About SPARK

SPARK aims to facilitate high-quality, relevant research in primary care in Singapore by linking clinicians and health service providers with academic staff.

Traditionally, research has taken place in teaching hospitals and specialised centres. However, such research does not always address the questions that are important in primary care and the results may not be measurable. We need to conduct research in the primary care setting to answer questions that are important to health services, clinicians and patients, and ultimately improve health outcomes.

Research can improve service delivery and the health of our patients, while at the same time benefitting professionals. Participating in research encourages us to reflect on our practice, explore questions arising from patient care and keep updated on new evidence and innovations. Together we can develop stronger primary care through research and education.
