About the Cluster

NTU has a long-established reputation in AI research and has a strong engineering eco-system surrounded by many corporate laboratories sponsored by some of the most influential companies in the world. AI Research Institute (AI.R) aims to coordinate research in AI across NTU.  In particular, AI.R aims to promote research that applies AI to areas of existing strength within NTU. These application areas include clean water, alternative energy, clean technologies, urban systems, and geological risks, preservation of societal security, promotion of healthy living, ageing research, human health and medicine, and technology-enabled pedagogies. AI.R serves as the interface between NTU’s AI research and government and corporate partners. AI.R will also initiate AI related education programs including “AI + X” master programme.
