RRIS collaboration with Guangdong JianXiang Hospital Group

The 5th of November 2021 marked a significant milestone for a robust and purposeful research and development collaboration between Guangdong JianXiang Hospital Group (广东健翔医院管理集团有限公司) and RRIS. The inking of the Master Research Collaboration Agreement (MRCA) forms the backbone for 5 years of joint efforts to boost capabilities in the areas of Ability Data, Precision Rehabilitation and Intelligent Assistive Robots and their technology.

Guangdong JianXiang Hospital Group’s Chairman, Mr. Long Xiangyu, stated that rehabilitation medicine is an important part of the trinity of prevention, clinical treatment, and rehabilitation in modern medicine. As people’s demand for high quality rehabilitation medical services increases, the innovation and improvement of rehabilitation medical services and intelligent equipment must progress even faster. Foshan City and the Nanhai District are the melting pots of advanced manufacturing in China’s Greater Bay Area. Guangdong JianXiang Hospital Group is the largest private medical management group in Foshan City, and its focal points are in AI rehabilitation technology and applications, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), medical amenities for the elderly, on top of hospital services and consultancy.

The outcomes of this bilateral co-operation are to construct a standardised rehabilitation medical service system, cultivate human talent, and advance its technologies. The use of 5G and AI technologies will be employed to augment the functionalities of assistive robots, such as those used in limb rehabilitation and therapeutic massage. Singapore is a small nation of 5.9 million people, and we do not possess sufficient data points for effective big data analysis. With China’s large population of 1.4 billion people, the country is a fertile ground for testing, expertise-sharing, as well as the commercialisation of RRIS’ innovations.
