Webinar: Human-Automation Teamwork in Air Traffic Control

With the introduction of automation in air traffic control, comes the introduction of human-automation teamwork for the operator to stay in the control loop. However, successful teamwork with automation can be due to the operators' attitude regarding automation.

If the automation is not well-designed to support human-automation teamwork, and if operators do not accept automation, disastrous consequences might arise. Therefore, involving the operators in early development phases and exploring what kind of teamwork that is important for the operators might aid the design of automation.

This talk focuses on air traffic controllers' experiences an expectations regarding current & future automation, how to explore their attitudes towards automation, and the benefits to the design of the automation with end-users involved in the design process.
