Tour at SCALE@NTU in NTU-AmCham-EuroCham Event

Together with the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) and European Chamber of Commerce (EuroCham), NTU organized “Inaugural NTU-AmCham-EuroCham event: Public-Private Partnerships for Research and Innovation” on 14 April 2022. The event brought together representatives from many American and European multinationals to explore possible collaboration with NTU.

As part of the programme, SCALE@NTU hosted a lab tour by the industry leaders from the MNCs participating in the event. Prof Cong Gao, SCALE@NTU Co-Director (NTU), opened the tour with an introduction to the corporate lab jointly established by NTU, Singtel and NRF, with NCS, a digital and technology services unit of Singtel, being the leading agency for this collaboration. 

 

Mr Damien Kopp, SCALE@NTU Co-Director (Singtel), and Partner, NEXT Products & Platforms, NCS, further highlighted the strategic collaboration which aims for co-creation of next generation of products by NTU and Singtel/NCS to support Singapore’s Smart Nation transformation. 

 

Dr Sunil Sivadas, SCALE@NTU Deputy Director (Singtel), and Lead Research Scientist, Corporate Labs, NEXT Products & Platforms, NCS, proceeded to present the latest innovations from NCS in Robotics, Conversational AI, and Video Analytics, with integration of IP from SCALE@NTU.

The researchers in SCALE@NTU also showed several demos of ongoing R&D in the Corp lab, including Visual Indoor Positioning, Interception Game with AI, and Non-Invasive Detection of Vital Signs. 

The demos showcased the research inventions and technology translation through the collaboration between NTU and Singtel/NCS and were well received by the guests.
