Art History
The Art History curriculum aims to equip students with a thorough knowledge and critical awareness of the global histories of art, culture and heritage, which will be taught through lectures, seminars and practical projects. Students will be trained in the rigours and methods of researching and writing about art, including specialisations in Global Art History, Asian Art History, Museums, Heritage, Curating and Contemporary Art and Theory.
Graduates will develop key transferable skills highly prized by employers, which include visual and critical awareness, Careers in museums, art galleries and auction houses as curators or managers in conserving, valuing or auctioning works of art, antiques and other collectibles are common.
Other careers include arts administrator, archivist, museum education officer, picture editor or researcher, journalist, teacher or lecturer and exhibition or events organiser.
