Congratulations to Assistant Professor Arista Kuo (Chinese) for receiving the prestigious Nanyang Education Award (School) 2024!
Arista KUO is an Assistant Professor of Translation Studies in the Programme of Chinese, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Prior to that, she carried out her PhD studies at Imperial College London and worked as a visiting lecturer at City University London and a teaching fellow at the Centre for Translation Studies, University College London (UCL). Arista also worked as a freelance translator, interpreter and subtitler for over 10 years before she joined NTU, and was involved in a variety of projects in diverse fields, including finance, business and commerce, law, politics and diplomacy, innovation and technology, and cultural and creative industries. Her research interests include audiovisual translation, translator training, translation quality assessment, and cross-cultural communication.
The Nanyang Education Award is the highest honour conferred by the University to faculty members in the field of teaching. The Award recognises the dedication and achievements of faculty members who display excellent teaching practices and who enrich the learning experiences of NTU undergraduate/graduate students through their deep passion and genuine concern for their students.
