Assistant Professor Luke Lu researches on approaches to interactional sociolinguistics and ethnography, pertaining to issues such as transnational mobility, education, language rights, language planning and policy, and ethnicity.
We are thrilled to announce the launch of a new bilingual website that delves into the fascinating history of Chinese language reforms in Singapore. This project, funded by the Heritage Research Grant from the National Heritage Board and led by Asst Prof Luke Lu explores the grassroots and transnational narratives of how the older generation experienced and reacted to various Chinese language policies, particularly Mandarinisation.
