"Creative Nanyang: Text, Media, and Image in Singapore" is Dr. Lo-fen’s fourth book after “Gorgeous Nanyang: Arts, Advertisements, Crossover Singapore” (2016) , Bringing You Through the Journey of Su Dongpo (2020）,and “Dear Me: Learn Self-Love from Su Dongpo, Delight in Life”(2021) to be selected as the best book of the year by Lianhe Zaobao.

"Creative Nanyang: Text, Media, and Image in Singapore" consists of seven chapters and covers Singapore's history from the late 19th century to 2019. It encompasses significant events such as Singapore's emergence as a port, its journey towards independence, the celebration of the Golden Jubilee, and the 100th anniversary of China's May Fourth Movement. The author uses a Text and Image Studies perspective to discover and tell 7 stories that Singaporeans may not even know. Showcasing the colorful and diverse arts and culture of Singapore.

This book was partially funded by the Singapore Arts Council. Dr. LIEN Wen Sze from The Lien Foundation hosted the book launch on 7^th May 2023. More than 100 readers participated in the event. And in September 2023, the I Lo-fen’s Book Fair organized by Maha Yu Yi Bookstore, this book was in the spotlight again.

《星洲创意：文本.传媒.图像新加坡》是衣若芬博士继《南洋风华：艺文.广告.跨界.新加坡》（2016）、《陪你去看苏东坡》（2020）、《倍万自爱：学着苏东坡爱自己，享受快意人生》（2021）之后，第四本荣获《联合早报》年度好书的作品。

 

《星洲创意：文本.传媒.图像新加坡》涵盖了新加坡从 19 世纪末至 2019 年的历史。从新加坡开埠，独立建国，庆祝金禧五十周年，到和中国五四运动 100 周年，作者用文图学的视角发现和讲述新加坡人可能也不知道的7个故事，展现缤纷多彩的新加坡艺术文化。

本书荣获新加坡艺术理事赞助部分出版经费。2023年5月7日，由连士升基金会负责人连文思博士主持新书发布会,100多位读者参与了盛会。并在2023年9月友谊书斋主办的衣若芬书展,本书再度成为焦点。'
