With US Republican candidate Donald Trump set to enter the White House again, experts believe Beijing's biggest concern is that Trump's high tariff policies will hit China's economy hard. However, Elon Musk, an entrepreneur with huge business interests in China, could be a buffer against US-China trade friction. In preparation for the high tariffs, NTU PPGA’s Asst Prof Dylan Loh said that China has refrained from showing its cards and is “building up its ammo” for all possible scenarios.
