Fu Cong: EU's anti-subsidy investigation on China's electric vehicles is unfair
At the end of Li Qiang's trip to Europe, Ambassador of China to the European Union, Fu Cong, criticized the EU's countervailing subsidy investigation into Chinese electric vehicles as unfair and warned in a veiled way that more European products could face trade investigations. Asst Prof Dylan Loh from the Public Policy and Global Affairs programme at NTU’s SSS mentioned that Europe is concerned about the possibility of the US leaving its allies behind again and becoming more inward-looking if Trump is elected. Thus, maintaining open communication with China could help ease some uncertainties.
