A Collaboration with the Ministry of Social and Family Development
At the NTU School of Social Sciences, we recently hosted a thought-provoking talk in collaboration with the Ministry of Social and Family Development, centred on Singapore’s evolving landscape and the importance of building an inclusive society with opportunities for all.
We were privileged to have Ms. Chia as our guest speaker. A tireless advocate for persons with disabilities, Ms. Chia, who lives with Peroneal Muscular Atrophy, has made remarkable contributions through her roles at SPD, SG Enable, and as a Nominated Member of Parliament. Her dedication to championing inclusivity has brought critical social issues to the forefront, inspiring our community to strive for more significant social impact.
This talk provided our students with a unique opportunity to delve into the principles of fostering a caring community, where self-reliance and family support are key. It showcased SSS@NTU’s commitment to nurturing a culture of empathy and social responsibility, extending learning beyond the classroom.
