Trump picks Perdue as ambassador to China

U.S President-elect Donald Trump nominated former Republican senator David Perdue as U.S Ambassador to China and confirmed that Perdue has accepted the nomination. Asst Prof Dylan Loh from NTU’s SSS’s Public Policy and Global Affairs pointed out that Perdue had emphasised his desire to cooperate with China, which is a good start, and Perdue’s close relationship with Trump means he can communicate directly with the President.
