New Study Reveals Impact of Parental Lies

A recent study has revealed a significant link between parental lies and the likelihood of children lying to their parents. The research, conducted with 564 parent-child pairs in Singapore, uncovered insightful findings about the impact of different types of lies.
Published in the Journal of Experimental Child Psychology, this study highlights the importance of understanding how various parental lies affect children’s behaviour. Kudos to Associate Professor Setoh Peipei from our Psychology Programme for her invaluable contribution to this research, showcasing her expertise and dedication.
Her lab’s work on Parenting by Lying was featured in the Freakonomics Radio Network’s popular No Stupid Questions podcast, which features Angela Duckworth and Mike Maughan.
