Spreading Festive Cheer: Project Huat Ah!

The NTU School of Social Sciences was proud to once again bring joy to the community through Project Huat Ah!, in collaboration with the Boon Lay Youth Network and, for the first time, the Boon Lay Residents Network. This meaningful initiative treated 50 elderly residents to an evening of celebration and community bonding.

The night was filled with heartwarming moments, starting with a creative and sustainable hands-on activity, where seniors learned to upcycle old t-shirts into tote bags...a fun and eco-friendly way to engage them. Lively song performances lifted the atmosphere, with one particularly touching moment when an elderly resident joyfully danced along, fully embracing the festive spirit.

The presence of Minister Desmond Lee, alongside SSS Faculty, reinforced the school’s commitment to giving back. Contributions from our faculty, staff, and alumni made it possible to provide a festive dinner, essential care packs, and even ang pows, bringing smiles all around.

A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated volunteers and partners for making this event a success! We look forward to continuing our journey of meaningful community engagement.
