PSP seeks to shed image as 'Tan Cheng Bock party'

Progress Singapore Party's leadership has consciously kick-started a transition towards highlighting the collective over the individual. But party insiders remain unconvinced, while political analysts, and even Dr Tan Cheng Bock – PSP chairman himself, acknowledge the tall order ahead. "Dr Tan is really quite a unique figure in the history of Singapore politics so I don't think it's possible to replace him," says Asst Prof Walid Jumblatt Abdullah from NTU.
