Ev Rogers Leading Lights Lecture Series - Dr Arvind Singhal and Prof Dorien Kartikawangi
On 24 October 2024, the inaugural edition of the Ev Rogers Leading Lights Lecture Series took place at the Large TV Studio, WKWSCI. Organised by the Asian Communication Research Centre, the series, named in honour of Everett M. Rogers, aims to showcase exemplary academic work in the field of communication, encouraging deeper exploration of leading-edge scholarship and innovative ideas in the field of communication.
The event featured two renowned academics: Dr Arvind Singhal and Professor Dorien Kartikawangi.
Dr Singhal's presentation, The Lifework of Everett M. Rogers: Influential Communication Scholar, Global Public Intellectual, and Everyday Humanitarian, celebrated Rogers' monumental contributions to communication, emphasising his humility, intellectual legacy, and transformative impact across numerous academic disciplines.
Professor Kartikawangi's lecture, Digital Metamorphosis: Empowering Rural Resilience and Sustainability through Communication Strategies, highlighted the relevance of Rogers' Diffusion of Innovations theory in driving sustainable digital transformation within rural communities.
