Mandarin Speaking Series (MMS)

​Culture cultivation is taken as an important teaching content in our course. Since 2012, a cultural programme, Mandarin Speaking Series (MMS) has been running in collaboration with the NTU Chinese Society. In this programme, students on the Chinese language course were paired up with members of the Chinese Society for the purposes of maximizing students’ opportunities for speaking Mandarin and exposure to Chinese culture. 2-4 sessions have been held on each semester, whereby students and their buddies conversed in Chinese and jointly participated in a variety of activities, such as Chinese painting and calligraphy, Chinese music and talk shows; Diabolo and Chinese literature and drama. Students on the course, especially exchange students, were greatly motivated by the warm reception that was shown to them by their Chinese buddies.
