Seminar on Index Modulation Techniques in RF/FSO/THz Communication Systems by A/P Swaminathan R from IIT Indore , July 19 2024, CNCL/PDCL Meeting Room
Title: Index Modulation Techniques in RF/FSO/THz Communication Systems
Time: July 19, 2024 (Friday), 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Venue: CNCL/PDCL Meeting Room
Abstract:
Index modulation techniques such as space shift keying (SSK) and spatial modulation (SM) techniques overcome the increased power/energy consumption limitation of MIMO systems and achieve high energy and spectral efficiency by incorporating a third dimension called spatial dimension. In this talk, a detailed introduction about SM and advanced SM techniques such as Generalized SM, Quadrature SM, and Enhanced SM for radio frequency (RF), free space optics (FSO), and Terahertz (THz) communication systems will be given. Additionally, details relevant to the performance analysis framework of index modulation techniques will be highlighted, followed by an overview of existing works and future research directions.
