ByteClub: TAISP Reimagines LeetCode Night as Code Meets Comedy
Most coding nights are serious affairs – grim rows of stressed-out students hammering away at screens under fluorescent lights. But when the Turing AI Scholars Programme (TAISP) at CCDS hosted their spin on a LeetCode night, they flipped the script entirely. The event, cheekily named ByteClub, played off both bites and bytes to deliver a refreshing take on technical prep.
Held with the support of CCDS, ByteClub brought the TAISP community together for what can only be described as a coding party: complete with hard LeetCode problems, team challenges, drinks, and even water balloons. Contestants didn’t just face code – they faced it with friends, gameshow-style. And yes, prizes were involved.
The vibe? Less pressure cooker, more popcorn-fuelled problem solving. Behind the buzz was a serious goal: to help students test their skills, confront coding anxiety, and learn how to perform under pressure without losing their sense of humour or support system.
“Hard LeetCode problems were attempted (and only sometimes solved), but the real win was in the atmosphere,” shared one organiser. “What might’ve been a nerve-wracking simulation of a technical interview became a night of laughter, guidance, and growth.”
ByteClub didn’t just build skills – it strengthened TAISP’s reputation for nurturing a community where students challenge themselves and each other, while keeping wellness and peer support front and centre.
It was, in other words, a byte-sized taste of what TAISP does best.
