SCSE Alumni Tech Talk – Cashless Society cum SCSE AA AGM @ NTU Alumni House (Marina Square)

The School of Computer Science and Engineering (SCSE) alumni and their guests gathered together on 30 March 2019 for the SCSE Alumni Tech Talk – Cashless Society cum SCSE Alumni Association (AA) AGM held @ NTU Alumni House (Marina Square).

SCSE Asst Chair (Alumni and Outreach), Prof Cong Gao attended and graced the event. The event was aimed at strengthening the bond and network amongst the alumni and for them to learn more about cashless society and what it mean for the future. It drew over 70 strong participant attendance.

The event kick-started with the SCSE Alumni Association (AA) AGM and a welcome speech by SCSE Alumni Association (AA) President, Mr Leonard Lee (CS, Class of 2014), to thank the alumni and for their continual support for the past SCSE alumni events & activities. Mr Leonard then recapped past events held in 2018 and commenced the AGM proceeding. Prof Cong Gao also updated the alumni on the latest happenings at SCSE.

Mr Louis Liu shared about the rise of cashless payment and its economic implications. Mr Agus highlighted the importance of building an inclusive digital payments ecosystem and the benefit of an open ecosystem.

The alumni and their guests enjoyed the sharing session and posed several questions to the speakers. Prof Cong Gao presented tokens of appreciation to the distinguished speakers to end off the session. Many of them stayed on to chat and continue to learn from the speakers.
