Academic Dress and Dress Code
You must be properly attired as befits the occasion as academic tradition is observed and the ceremonial proceedings at the Convocation are kept formal and dignified. Academic dress is mandatory for all graduates attending the ceremony.
The full academic dress consists of a gown, a hood and a mortarboard (bonnet for PhD graduates). The colour of the hood indicates the discipline of the degree. You may check the colour of the hood for your degree.
Do note that any graduate found inappropriately dressed will not be permitted to attend the ceremony. Please also refer to the dress code for the Convocation.

Graduates may purchase or rent their academic dress from the gown vendor for Convocation 2024 from 11 June to 21 July 2024. You are required to place your order for the academic dress and make an appointment via the Serangoon Broadway homepage from 15 May 2024.

c. Login with the ceremony code sent in an email to you.
You may choose to make an appointment for the academic dress collection immediately after the submission of the academic dress order form OR at any other convenient time by logging in again.
Please note that all graduates are required to order their academic dresses and make an appointment online no later than 30 June 2024.
Graduates who rent their academic dress are required to return the academic dress to the gown vendor at their studio from 1 to 31 August 2024.

You must be properly attired as befits the occasion. Academic dress is mandatory for all graduates attending the ceremony and all graduates are advised to observe the following dress code:
For men, please wear a long-sleeved shirt with collar, a tie (optional), long pants and formal shoes.
For ladies, please wear either a long-sleeved shirt or blouse with collar, paired with long pants or knee-length skirt, or a knee-length dress, and covered formal shoes.
The academic gown should only have the accompanying graduation hood affixed to it. Students are not permitted to layer other clothing over the academic gown, or have any decorations, messages or symbols attached to the gown or mortarboard/bonnet.
Any graduate found to be inappropriately dressed will not be permitted to attend the ceremony. Examples of inappropriate attire include:
• Clothing: T-shirts, polo shirts, casual pants/jeans, shorts, culottes, bermudas, and attire with inappropriate language and messages, and/or visuals that insinuate drugs, political messages/symbols, discrimination, or harassment.
• Footwear and accessories: Slippers, sneakers, canvas shoes, sports shoes, open-toe sandals and sunglasses.
University staff reserve the right to remove all inappropriate materials deemed disruptive, harassing, or determined to pose a safety risk or obstructing the view of other attendees. Examples of inappropriate content include intimidating or profane language and/or visual materials that insinuate drugs, political messages/symbols, discrimination, or harassment. Graduands unwilling to comply with these guidelines may not participate in the Convocation ceremony.
