CSFI aims to create and promote knowledge of financial innovation and sustainable finance and the connection between the two. Taking an evidence-based and interdisciplinary approach, we harness cutting-edge financial technologies to tackle world-scale challenges and revolutionize local and global finance.
Key Pillars of CSFI
Research
Building on effective interdisciplinary collaborations and productive industrial partnerships, CSFI promotes innovative and impactful finance research to address global challenges, such as social equality, financial inclusion, climate change, and economic productivity. The centre works with researchers at Nanyang Technological University to conduct principled and rigorous research, advancing finance theories and enhancing business practices. Practice
At Nanyang Technological University, CSFI plays an important industry-facing role by connecting finance researchers with corporations, financial institutions, and regulators. CSFI creates financial markets insights periodically and shares them with the widest possible audience through industry reports and presenting activities. In addition, the centre fosters knowledge exchange with financial institutions and practitioners via conferences, seminars, and consultation services. Finally, CSFI produces policy-relevant research to support the practical applications of financial innovation, meet emerging regulatory challenges in financial markets, and strengthen business sustainability.
Education
CSFI provides the students with opportunities to learn about industry-relevant best practices related to sustainable finance and Fintech in Singapore. We equip our students with financial and technical knowledge to succeed and lead in the finance industry. In particular, the centre facilitates platform-based learning (PBL), which integrates tools used in the financial sector, such as Refinitiv and Bloomberg data analysis and terminals. Moreover, CSFI also operates as a hub for excellence in finance PhD, executive education, and postgraduate teaching programmes.
