Welcome to the Digital Trust Centre.

 

The Digital Trust Centre is a national centre that leads Singapore’s research and development efforts in trust technologies, including AI Safety. The objectives of the DTC, which also houses the Singapore AI Safety Institute, are to pull together Singapore’s research ecosystem to enable industry digitalisation and to build a strong core of talent to strengthen Singapore’s status as a trusted hub in the digital economy. Our work is funded by a $50 million grant from IMDA and NRF, starting from 1 October 2022.

The Centre will focus on:

  • Trust Tech Research: Enabling Institutes of Higher Learning and Research Institutes to pursue research excellence and drive collaborations.
  • Trust Tech Innovations: Encouraging academia and enterprises to co-develop market-ready solutions.
  • Sandbox Environment: Allowing businesses to experiment with Trust Technologies for data sharing challenges.
  • Local Capabilities: Nurturing 100 R&D talents in digital trust.

Trusted Analysis

Support the exchange and derivation of insights from sensitive datasets while preserving data privacy.

Trusted Accreditation

Develop technologies to evaluate the trustworthiness of digital products and services, including AI fairness.

Trusted Compute

Develop capabilities across distributed architectures to address trusted computation limitations.

Trusted Identity

Address trust in verifiability and authentication of digital identities and assets.

 

 

With the designation of the Digital Trust Centre as Singapore’s AI Safety Institute (AISI), the Singapore AISI will work on addressing the gaps in global AI safety science, leveraging Singapore's work in AI evaluation and testing. It will pull together Singapore's research ecosystem, collaborate internationally with other AISIs to advance the sciences of AI safety and provide science-based input to our work in AI governance.

To strengthen and grow the cybersecurity ecosystem in the Asia Pacific region, NTU Singapore and Mastercard today announced an industry-leading partnership that will see the establishment of the Mastercard-NTU Joint Lab.

The joint lab will tap into Mastercard’s cybersecurity expertise alongside NTU’s education infrastructure to train and reskill cybersecurity talent in the region. Mastercard and NTU will also collaborate to identify projects for scientific research and development around cybersecurity and digital trust.

The partnership objective is to develop a talent pipeline and industry expertise to build cybersecurity ecosystem capability and create job opportunities in the fast-growing sector.
