Enhanced aid for undergraduates who need financial support

The enhanced financial aid scheme to fully fund tuition fees is available to full-time Singaporean undergraduates who are from households with Per Capita Income of up to S$1,100.

Over 3,000 undergraduates are expected to benefit from NTU’s latest enhancements to its financial aid scheme.

This adds to the range of financial assistance schemes at NTU that are designed to help offset a portion of the educational and living expenses of students from low-income families.

Prior to this, bursary holders have at least 54 per cent of their tuition fees subsidised by government bursaries. For students who qualify, additional assistance comes from scholarships and bursaries which helps to offset the balance of the tuition fees.

With the enhanced NTU scheme, the University will “top up” the difference so that all bursary holders from the two lowest income tiers will get full coverage of their tuition fees. It will do this by ramping up its fundraising efforts to build an endowment fund to ensure that students from the two lowest income tiers can continue to receive this financial support.
