Since before joining University, I have been interested in joining the finance sector. The 2 majors which constitute ECPP are a great fit for this industry, on top of being great complements to each other! Economics, which is more math and data-centric, imparts the more technical skills and know-how, whereas PPGA teaches us to think from a more human perspective. The latter is particularly important in the financial world, because many a time, too much emphasis is placed on the technical and numerical skills, while the human side of things – including values, such as empathy – gets sidelined. And I think ECPP provided a great balance of both.
