IBC workshop on DURC on 16 September 2024
The Office of Health and Safety (OHS) organized a workshop for NTU Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) members on how to effectively assess Dual Use Research of Concern (DURC) concerns in Life Sciences on the 16 September 2024. The workshop was attended by 25 participants consisting of 11 IBC Members and representatives from the Research Integrity and Ethics Office (RIEO).

Based on the feedback received by participants, the workshop was successful in helping IBC members have a greater understanding of how to evaluate possible DURC concerns in life science projects. This would ensure that IBC members are able to value in the review process for life science projects, ensuring greater compliance and minimising reputational risks.
