Dr Raphael Lee obtained his MBBS from the National University of Singapore in 2010, for which he was admitted to the Dean's list for the final year exam. He underwent his residency training in Internal Medicine at Tan Tock Seng Hospital and obtained membership for the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP), United Kingdom in 2014 as well as a Masters of Medicine (Internal Medicine), Singapore. He is dually accredited as a specialist in both Geriatric Medicine as well as Palliative Care.

He is currently a Consultant with the Department of Palliative and Supportive Care at Woodlands Health (WH) and provides care for the frail older adult as well as patients with a life limiting illness. His clinical and research interests include cancer pain, end stage organ failures, frailty, spirituality and clinical education. He is also a member of the Clinical Ethics Committee as well as the WH Office of Research Development and Scholarship.

Throughout his residency training, Dr Lee has been involved actively in undergraduate medical education as well as post graduate medical education. He was awarded the NHG Teaching Award for Junior Doctors in 2017 and for Senior Doctors in 2019.

He is currently serving as the Clinical Course Lead for OSCE (Year 5) for the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. He also participates as an examiner and mentor for students taking the Graduate Diploma in Palliative Medicine Programme at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. In Woodlands Health, Dr Raphael is championing education in Generalist Palliative Care for physicians and family groups as well as heading communication programmes to teach and empower the junior learners. He also serves as a clinical mentor for and a member of the NHG Cluster Committee of Advanced Practice Nurse Competency.
