Joined NTU in 2010, Professor Liu is Tan Lark Sye Chair Professor of Public Policy and Global Affairs at the School of Social Sciences. From 2011 to 2017 he served as Chair of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS), which expanded rapidly to become the largest school at NTU in terms of number of faculty and students. It was reorganized as the School of Humanities and the School of Social Sciences (SSS) in 2017, and Professor Liu served as Chair of SSS till 2020. He also served concurrently as Director of the Nanyang Centre for Public Administration (NCPA) from January 2014 to December 2022, and as NCPA Director (Research and Executive Education) since January 2023.
Professor Liu’s research areas include Asian governance, international migration, Sino-Southeast Asian interactions, and global talent management. He has authored/edited 25 books and over 100 academic articles, including in leading international journals such as World Politics, Journal of Asian Studies, Critical Asian Studies, Journal of Southeast Asian Studies, The China Quarterly, Journal of Contemporary China, Nature and Culture, International Journal of Comparative Sociology, Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies, Global Policy, and Ethnic and Racial Studies. His publications also appear in the French, Dutch, Japanese, Chinese, Indonesian and Korean languages.
Professor Liu has held a number of visiting professorship/fellowship appointments, including at Harvard, Kyoto, Osaka, Peking, Amsterdam, and Stockholm Universities. His professional service includes serving as Vice President of the Asian Association of World Historians and as a research committee member of the International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS). He is presently Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Chinese Overseas (Boston and Leiden) and International Journal of Diasporic Chinese Studies (Singapore), and Routledge Series Public Governance in Asia, and is on the editorial board of Journal of Contemporary China (Routledge), Asian Review of World History(Brill), Routledge Monograph Series The Chinese World (London and New York), and Brill Chinese Overseas Monograph Series (Boston and Leiden), among others.
Professor Liu was awarded the Singapore National Day Public Administration Medal (Silver) in August 2021 and received the Singapore Ministry of Education Service to Education Award in 2019.

简介

刘宏现任新加坡南洋理工大学协理副校长（国际合作）、南洋公共管理研究生院院长(研究与培训)、社会科学学院陈六使讲席教授（公共政策与全球事务）、南洋理工大学全资控股“南创咨询有限公司”（上海、北京）董事会主席。曾任新加坡国立大学文学与社会科学学院助理教授、副教授（1995-2006）、英国曼彻斯特大学东亚系讲席教授暨中国研究中心首任主任（2006-2010）、南洋理工大学人文与社会科学学院院长（2011-2017）、社会科学学院院长（2017-2020）、南洋公共管理研究生院院长（2014-2022）。他曾先后在阿姆斯特丹大学、斯德哥尔摩大学、哈佛大学、京都大学、东京大学、大阪大学、北京大学、清华大学、上海交通大学、中山大学、厦门大学、暨南大学担任客座教授或兼职研究员。2019年获新加坡教育部“教育贡献奖”，2021年获新加坡公共行政国庆奖章（银）。

刘教授的主要研究领域包括国际政治经济学、中国与全球化、国际人才战略、海外华人社会与商业网络、中国与东南亚关系等。已发表中、英、日文学术论文100余篇及出版20多部本专著。中文近著包括《商脉与商道》（浙江大学出版社，2018）、《跨界治理的理念与亚洲实践》(中国社会科学出版社，2020)、《国际化人才战略与高等教育管理》(暨南大学出版社，2020)、《亲爱的中国——移民书信与侨汇》（中国出版集团、东方出版中心，2022）、《移动的边界——移民、文化与认同的政治》（浙江大学出版社，2024）。英文近著包括Dear China: Emigrant Letters and Remittances, 1820-1980 (University of California Press, 2018), The Political Economy of Transnational Governance in Asia: China and Southeast Asia in the 21^st Century (Routledge, 2022); The Political Economy of Regionalism, Trade, and Infrastructure (World Scientific, 2022); Changing Dynamics and Mechanisms of Maritime Asia in Comparative Perspectives (Palgrave Macmillan, 2021); Research Handbook on the Belt and Road Initiative (Edward Elgar, 2021); and An Emerging Asian Model of Governance and Transnational Knowledge Transfer (Routledge, 2020).
