Dr Lim Yang Teck Kenneth speaks at the Digital Learning Week and facilitates a workshop for members of staff at the Maritime Training and Doctrine Command of the Singapore Armed Forces

Dr Lim Yang Teck Kenneth, Senior Education Research Scientist at the Centre for Research in Pedagogy and Practice (CRPP), and his student, Mr Malcolm Koh, were invited to speak at the Digital Learning Week 2024 held in Paris, from 2nd to 5th September 2024. Launched in 2023, the Digital Learning Week is UNESCO’s annual flagship event on digital learning and the transformation of education. Dr Lim and Mr Koh shared their work titled “Students investigating their own learning: The Life2Well project and the development of literacies in AI and data science as a case example from Singapore”, with the overall session themed “Leveraging AI for personalized learning and assessment”. A total of 100 participants attended their presentation, including policymakers, academics, as well as members of non-governmental organizations (NGOs). 

He was also invited to design and facilitate a workshop alongside his students, for members of staff from the Maritime Training and Doctrine Command of the Singapore Armed Forces. The full-day workshop, with more than 30 participants, explores foundational concepts in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Science and neuroergonomics, with examples drawn from projects initiated by Dr Lim’s students and from everyday life.
