Learning about the personal life of Munshi Abdullah
Munshi Abdullah is one of the prominent Malay scholars, not only was he a translator, critic, language teacher - he was also a Singapore Apprentice.
Associate Professor Hadijah Rahmat started her research on Munshi Abdullah in 1977. What started with curiosity became one of her solid research interest. Having spent 25 years venturing the footsteps of Munshi Abdullah, she has now compiled her journey - the legacy of Munshi Abdullah - in a two-volume book. The book detailed her journey on this adventure, the book filled with pictures, illustrations also aims to surround the reader with inspiration and curiosity to continue learning about him.
A/P Hadijah Rahmat hopes that her book would raise awareness of Munshi Abdullah's legacy. She encourages the next generation to find their message within her book and continue on the journey. She will be launching her book on 27 February 2021 at the POD, National Library on Victoria Street. Minister of Parliament, Maliki Osman will be gracing the event.
