SLL was invited to run a workshop for the Youth Environment Camp on 24 November 2022. A team of six facilitators, led by Dr Tricia Seow and SLL collaborator Ms Ng Wen Xin, carried out a workshop for 120 youth participants from ASEAN, where the centerpiece was SLL’s Getting to Zero game.
Participants learned about climate science and climate action through the game, specifically, about policy options available to get to net zero carbon emissions, and their relative strengths and limitations.
The workshop facilitators led the participants to think about the viability of the different policy options for their own home communities. Participants shared their own hopes for climate action and discussed their possible roles as citizens and climate advocates.
The workshop also included a whole group briefing and discussion, and wrapped up with a Q&A session, where participant enthusiasm and engagement was robust. In all, it was a great learning experience for all involved!
