Frequently Asked Questions

Enrolment

Can I join if I do not have prior knowledge?

Prior knowledge is not compulsory. Nevertheless, applicants will be required to undergo a shortlisting process where they must share their résumé and complete a pre-course survey. Our instructors and career consultants will review applicants to assess their suitability before deciding whether to shortlist them for the course.

Can I enrol in multiple SCTP courses simultaneously at different training providers?

We commend your effort in pursuing multiple SCTP courses. You are free to enrol in more than one SCTP course with different training providers, provided your schedule permits.

Can I take an individual module instead of the entire SCTP course?

Instead of an individual module, we recommend taking the entire SCTP course to unlock its full potential and maximise your learning. Additionally, you will also get to receive career advisory and employment facilitation services as a SCTP learner.

Which months of the year do SCTP courses typically have intakes?

We typically launch one intake per quarter. The dates of future intakes will be determined by our instructors' availabilities. Hence, referring to past intake dates may not be a reliable indicator.

After submitting my application, when can I expect to hear back about the status of it?

From the date of submission, applicants can expect to receive confirmation that their application has been received within three working days.

Following this, they will be asked to submit their resume and complete a pre-course survey. The final status of their application will be communicated at least three weeks before course commencement, contingent on how quickly the pre-course survey is completed and when the interview is conducted, if any.

Course Format

What is the mode of learning and where are classes held at?

Face-to-Face (F2F) sessions are conducted at NTU@one-north (11 Slim Barracks Rise, Singapore 138664). NTU PACE reserves the right to change the date, mode and venue of lessons or cancel them due to unforeseen circumstances.

I am currently residing outside of Singapore, is it possible to participate in the lessons virtually?

While our course offers both F2F and online lessons, attendance for all sessions is compulsory. To successfully complete the course, a minimum of 75 per cent attendance is required. F2F sessions are particularly important as they offer valuable opportunities to interact directly with instructors and engage in in-person discussions. We encourage all learners to fully participate in both formats to get the most out of the course.

Will the recordings of synchronous e-learning sessions be shared with learners?

The recordings are not shared with learners as they are intended solely for internal audit and review purposes to ensure the quality and consistency of our courses.

If there are days when I am unable to attend Face-to-Face sessions (F2F), will there be pre-recorded sessions?

F2F sessions are not recorded. If learners are unable to attend a particular lesson, they can discuss it with our friendly instructors at the start of the course.

Course Completion

After completing a SCTP course, what certificate will I receive?

Upon successful completion, learners will be awarded an Advanced Professional Certificate by NTU.

Learners must also attain at least 75 per cent training attendance and pass all associated assessments to graduate.

Will the SCTP courses lead to job placements?

We will provide career advisory and employment facilitation services to help learners in their job search in relevant sectors or job roles. However, there is no guarantee of a job placement, and learners would need to be open to the job opportunities available.

What is the typical placement rate for graduates of SCTP courses?

We are unable to provide specific placement rate figures due to the competitive nature of the industry. However, please note that SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) closely monitors the performance of our courses. The continued availability of multiple intakes is a testament to the effectiveness of our courses and SSG's confidence in our ability to deliver quality education.

Are SCTP courses stackable towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree at NTU?

SCTP courses are non-credit bearing. Hence, they cannot be stacked towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree. If you are interested in credit-bearing courses that can be stacked towards a degree, we recommend exploring the FlexiMasters and Graduate Certificate programmes.
