Introduction

The module provides students with a basic understanding of the planning, development and management of digital content. A consideration of the theory, principles, traditions and current trends in publication design is applied to electronic publishing. We examine technological resources in relation to the social, cultural, legal, economic and political implications of the evolving publishing industry, and the opportunities for technological developments in a Singaporean, SE Asian, and international publishing landscape.

By the end of this course, students should be able to:
- Demonstrate an awareness of the parameters and varieties of electronic publishing in Singapore and worldwide
- Develop the ability to apply humanities research and research methods to the creative industries
- Develop an appreciation of the particularity, diversity

As with all Humanities courses, this course prepares students for a wide range of employment opportunities in Busincess, Education, Civil Service, and the arts, as it provides specific job scope considerations to supplement the writing, reading, and critical thinking skills that serve Humanities so well in taking on jobs in these sectors.  This particular course provides special insight into jobs in Journalism and Media.
