Introduction

Organisational threats manifest in various forms, with a significant portion originating from within the company, whether through present or past employees, contractors, or third-party vendors who might misuse or have their authorized access to organisational systems misused. In today's landscape, the majority of data breaches stem from either deliberate or inadvertent actions of insiders.
This course is well-suited for the enhancement of existing information technology (IT) professionals seeking to excel in the fields of cyber or data governance. It caters to individuals in both the banking and finance sector and other industries engaged in e-business interactions with the banking and financial sector.

Learners are encouraged to complete the following core courses before enrolling in the remaining courses:

This course covers the different insider threat based on employee profiles, motivations, and harm that they can cause an organization due to their distinct advantage of familiarity with company processes and how businesses can defend against this threat. This course explains the nature of inside threats, introduces techniques and methodologies for detecting and profiling insider threats.


At the end of the course, learners will be able to 
  • Identify and describe the different insider threat based on employee profiles, motivations and harm that they can cause an organization. 
  • Explain how businesses can defend against the different insider threats.
  • Apply the techniques and methodologies for analysing, detecting and profiling insider threats.
This course covers the different insider threat based on employee profiles, motivations, and harm that they can cause an organization due to their distinct advantage of familiarity with company processes and how businesses can defend against this threat. This course explains the nature of inside threats, introduces techniques and methodologies for detecting and profiling insider threats.


This course is suitable for cybersecurity analysts, information system auditors, law enforcement, security architects, system designers, and system administrator. Participants are expected to have basic knowledge in cybersecurity, cybersecurity risk management and cryptography before taking this module.

Rebecca Ledingham

Rebecca Ledingham is the global Vice President at Mastercard responsible for cybersecurity Cyber Threat Intelligence, Cyber Capacity Training and Building and Thought Leadership. Prior to joining MasterCard Rebecca was a Cyber Agent at the INTERPOL Global Complex for Innovation (IGCI).


Pelumi Raji Bolaji

Pelumi Raji Bolaji is a Specialist on Mastercard's Security Solutions team, developing cybersecurity services and supporting cyber threat research. Prior to joining Mastercard, Pelumi graduated from John Jay College of Criminal Justice  with a BA/MA in International Criminal Justice, focusing on Cyber and Financial Crimes. 


Elizabeth Barrow

Elizabeth Barrow is the Corporate Security Investigations Insider Threat Manager at Mastercard and is responsible for managing the Global Insider Threat Program and the Insider Threat Incident Response Team. She graduated Monash University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Information Systems and Technology and has previously worked in analyst and management roles within Insider Threat for the Australian Government Defence and Intelligence sectors.
