Introduction
This course is intended to provide participants with an understanding basic theoretical, procedural, and technical aspects of evaluation. The goal is to help participants develop some basic knowledge and skills in the application of evaluation models to various training programmes
This course is part of:
- FlexiMasters in Professional Training and Development
- Master of Arts in Professional Education (Training and Development)
Learners must complete the following courses to attain the Graduate Certificate in Professional Training and Development (12 AU):
• MTD909 E-learning Tools for Training (Pre-requisite: completed MTD903)
Upon completion of the fourth course, MTD912 Programme Evaluation Models and Methods, learners will fulfil the AU requirements to attain the FlexiMasters in Professional Training and Development (16 AU).

Upon successful completion of the course, you should be able to:
- Explain the rationale for conducting a programme evaluation
- Describe different evaluation models by identifying their strengths and limitations;
- Discuss the procedures for planning, conducting and using evaluations;
- Design an evaluation plan that is based on the appropriate applications of evaluation models and methods;
- Design instruments for the evaluation.
To meet the requirement of SkillsFuture Singapore, assessment(s) will be conducted during every course. The assessment(s) include:
- Class Participation
- Student-led seminar
- Group Presentation
- Evaluation Plan (Individual)
- Data Analysis Assignment (Individual)
At least 2 years of working experience in one of the following:
1. Teacher Professional Development
2. Educational Leadership
3. Higher Education
4. Continuing Education and Training
5. Other relevant adult education or management
