Introduction
This course is to critically examine and explore properties not only musically but also draw connections in and with philosophy and pedagogical discourses in the practices involving music-creating, performing and responding as well as the site-specific contexts by which these musical practices and traditions are emergent.

- Graduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning Music
- FlexiMasters in Teaching and Learning Music
- Master of Education in Music
Learners must complete the following courses to attain the Graduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning Music (12 AU):
• MUE904 Studies in Musical Behaviours
Upon completion of the fourth course, MUE903 Popular Culture and ICT in Music Education, learners will fulfil the AU requirements to attain the FlexiMasters in Teaching and Learning Music (16 AU).

By the end of the course, learners should be able to:
i) Understand the musical practices around the world
ii) Adopt an interdisciplinary perspective of musical sounds emergent
in musical practices in communities of practice around the world
iii) Understand the implications of such an understanding of the
various musical practices and tradition
iv) Understand the implications for the teaching and learning of these
various musical practices and traditions.
To meet the requirement of SkillsFuture Singapore, assessment(s) will be conducted during every course. The assessment(s) include:
- Written Assignment (Individual)
- Seminar Presentation and written submission (Group)
