This course intends to provide participants with concepts of cyber security and the necessary skills to protect ourselves against cyber threats.
This subject intends to provide participants with essential concepts of information security, cryptography, secure protocols, detection and other security techniques.

• Introduction to Secure Electronic Transaction (SET) and Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol.
• Concepts of Firewalls Intrusion detection system, Denial of service attacks and online payment systems.
6. Social Networks and Cyber Security
• Cyber security awareness, education, social engineering, cyber bullying, social media and its impacts on the society.
7. Cyber security for Industry 4.0
• Introduction to Industry 4.0, Cyber security and privacy challenges in Industry 4.0.
• Best cyber security solutions and practices for Industry 4.0.
8. Blockchain and Cryptocurrencies 4.0
• Concepts of Blockchain, Blockchain technologies, cryptocurrencies (Bitcoins, Litecoin, Ethereum, Ripple).
• Applications of Blockchain in businesses, future of cryptocurrencies.
Anyone who is connected to internet and wants to upgrade his/her skills in cyber security, Industry 4.0 and Blockchain area as the application of this course is very broad. This course will be beneficial for individuals who want to learn how to protect themselves and their organizations from cyber threats. No pre-requisite is needed for this course.

Dr Mohammed Yakoob Siyal
Dr Siyal holds MSc and PhD degrees in Computer Engineering from University of Manchester, UK and an MBA (specializing in IT) degree from European Management School, Surrey University, England. Dr Siyal has been working in Universities in Europe and Asia and has been involved in teaching, research and supervising/advising students in Information Security areas at the school of EEE, NTU, Singapore. With his inter-disciplinary background he has been teaching and conducting research in Information Security, Medical Image Processing, Computer Vision, E-business/IT Management, Innovation and technology management areas. Dr Siyal has published over 200 refereed journal and conference papers and has authored 8 books. At NTU, he has won numerous teaching awards including “Best Dressed Teacher”, “Teaching Excellence Award” and “Nanyang Teaching Excellence Award”.
