Introduction

This course is specifically designed for working professionals who are either currently in, or seeking, managerial and leadership positions in organisations that have been significantly impacted by the use of digital technologies. The advent of digital technologies has fundamentally changed the way leaders operate, communicate, and make decisions. To be effective in such environments, leaders must be able to adapt and leverage these technologies to drive organisational success.
The course offers an overview of management principles and their applications within digitalised organisational environments, providing the necessary frameworks, methodologies, and real-world case studies to become effective managers and leaders in such settings. Learners will learn the fundamentals of leading people, teams, and organisations, as well as developing managerial skills to design work, analyse situations, and make decisions in digitalised environments.
Ultimately, this course will equip participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive as leaders in digitalised organisations. They will learn to adapt to new technologies, manage change, and effectively lead their teams to success in the digital age.

This course provides an overview of the principles of management and their applications in digitalized organizational environments. Students will learn the fundamentals of effectively leading people, teams, and organizations and develop managerial skills to design work, analyze situations and make decisions in such environments.

To meet the requirement of SkillsFuture Singapore, assessment(s) will be conducted during every course. The assessment(s) include:

This course is recommended for participants who are at the managerial and leadership levels or planning to move up to these levels in organizations.

Associate Professor Lee Chei Sian

Lee Chei Sian is an Associate Professor at the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information at the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, where she is also the Associate Chair (Faculty). She was the recipient of the 2018 Nanyang Education Award (School-level). She is actively involved in research on issues related to everyday technologies and user-information interaction at work and school. Her work has been widely published in international journals including Journal of Educational Computing Research, Journal of the Association for Information Science and Technology, Computers and Education, Computers in Human Behavior and New Media and Society. Chei Sian is currently on the Editorial Advisory Board for Computers and Education, Online Information Review, The Electronic Library and Journal for STEM Education Research. She received her B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Computer and Information Sciences from the National University of Singapore and her PhD in Management Information Systems from the University of Illinois at Chicago, Liautaud Graduate School of Business.
