Girish embarked on his illustrious 30 years career journey with TCS in 1994 as a trainee, setting the stage with impressive achievements while leveraging innovative technologies for business innovation and excellence.

With unwavering determination, Girish ascended through the ranks to assume executive leadership positions across TCS markets in Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific.

As President of Growth Markets - Asia Pacific (APAC), Middle East and Africa (MEA), Latin America (LATAM), India Enterprise, Public Services (Global) & Corporate Affairs, Girish manages an extensive and thriving business portfolio with tremendous growth valued at USD ~5.6 billion across 35+ countries, empowering a diverse workforce of 75,000+ professionals in TCS – one of the world’s most admired companies in 2023 by Fortune Magazine and second most valuable IT services brand in the 2024 Global 500 IT Services Ranking by Brand Finance.

Girish is passionate of community work and believes in connecting with the local communities for positive impact as he regularly lends his time and expertise to different business and industry bodies. He was appointed on the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore (Ranked #26* in World University Rankings) Board of Trustees by the Singapore’s Ministry of Education in 2023.

Girish is a member of Confederation of Indian Industry’s (CII) International Council, chairing its National Committee on ASEAN and Oceania. He chairs the CII-India Business Forum (CII-IBF), Singapore chapter. He is also a Business Champion for India-Australia relations appointed by the Australian Government and was recognized with the “Leading CEO” award by the Singapore Human Resource Institute (SHRI) in 2018. He was also appointed by the Singapore People’s Association as one of the Project We Care Management Committee Members (2024-2025), to share TCS's expertise and experience in design thinking/tech programmes for the local communities. He also received the Special Recognition (Individual) Award by the People’s Association in 2018.

Girish has been appointed to sit on the board of Women on Wings as Director from April 2024 – an organization to help families living in rural India move out of poverty through economic development. It aims to co-create one million jobs for women in rural India by 2030, in partnership with Indian social enterprises and women entrepreneurship programs.

He was on the Supervisory board of Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) for the past six years, the pioneer in sustainability reporting standards, where he chaired its Audit, Risk and Compensation committee.

Girish also sits on the advisory board of Health Innovation Exchange (HIEx), a Geneva-based UN organization dedicated to creating innovative solutions for health-related challenges. In recognition of his services to the community, he was also a recipient of the Frans Banninck Cocq Medal from the Mayor of Amsterdam.

He was named among Asia’s leading ESG and Sustainability Champions in 2022 for his efforts in driving change and creating sustainable business outcomes in Asia Pacific.

Girish holds a Master in Business Administration from the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies and is a Computer Science graduate from PSG Tech. He has also completed the Wharton’s Corporate Governance program in 2022, as a testament of his commitment to lifelong learning.
