Marina Bay NS Square Project
Meet CEE Alumni, Mr Von Lee (Class of 1995) and Mr Ryan Lock (Class of 2022) from Expand Construction
The Minister for National Development, Mr Desmond Lee, visited the Marina Bay NS Square project on 11 Feb 2025.
The NS Square project will redevelop the Float@Marina Bay into a vibrant event and entertainment space - featuring a permanent stage deck and grandstand with a seating capacity of about 30,000, whereby large-scale national and community events like the National Day Parade can be held. Having a strong record in marine works around Marina Bay, and have completed projects such as the Marina Bay Waterfront Promenade and Esplanade Waterfront Theatre, Expand Construction Pte Ltd was awarded the Construction Tender for Redevelopment.
At the project work site, Mr Lee met up with Mr Von Lee (Founder and Chairman, Expand Construction) and Mr Ryan Lock (senior project engineer, Expand Construction), and understands how the NS Square project is harnessing robotics and automation to boost construction productivity. At the forefront of these innovation, Ryan utilises a suite of technologies - including construction robots, 3D digital building models, Augmented Reality, and AI-powered tools - to drive efficiency and excellence. As Singapore's built environment industry continues to evolve, Mr Lee is excited to see more young Singaporeans like Ryan join the sector, shaping the future of our city.
