Maria is the Italian language coordinator at the Center for Modern Languages and part-time lecturer in NTU. Her collaboration with NTU started in 2021.
During her twenty-year long career, she worked as lecturer of Italian both in Italy (teaching native and non-native speakers), USA and Singapore. She taught Italian from elementary to the most advanced levels at private and public institutions, corporations, and universities. This has enabled her to develop a wide range of teaching methods for each competence level.
She believes that the lecturer’s mission is to deliver engaging lessons that foster students’ participation from the very first class. Her classes are designed to simultaneously develop the four linguistic skills - listening, reading, speaking and writing - in a vibrant student-centered learning environment.
As a passionate teacher of her language and culture, her utmost goal is to see her students develop interest and passion for the very rich Italian culture, be it Italian art, gastronomy, music, cinema, history, literature, heritage and much more.
