Centre for System Intelligence and Efficiency (CSIE) is a Centre of Excellence to advance research and development (R&D) in electrical systems for future cities. It was established in June 2011 through the merging of Smart Energy Research Centre,
Centre for Intelligent Machines and Centre for Modeling and Control of Complex Systems. It aims to develop key technologies in control and optimization, sensing and information processing, machine learning, cyber physical systems, robotics and automation,
power electronic devices for applications in environmental monitoring, sustainability, renewable energy systems, smart buildings, healthcare systems, transportation systems, aerospace engineering, maritime engineering, and defense. The centre’s
research activities are organized into five research programmes:
- Control, Intelligent Systems and Robotics
- Green Cooling and Air Conditioning Technologies
- Intelligent Power and Energy Systems
- Unmanned Systems and Urban Mobility
- Urban Sensing and Data Analytics
