Dean's Message

Welcome to the College of Engineering (CoE) at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU Singapore). Consistently ranked among the top universities for Engineering and Technology by various rankings tables, we believe in providing our students, faculty members and researchers with a nurturing and collaborative environment to engineer real-world innovations and future-ready solutions that make a difference for the community, nation and the world.

In the area of undergraduate education, we offer a holistic education that includes a strong grounding in engineering fundamentals, appreciation in arts, humanities, business and sciences, practical experience and soft skills. Our industry-relevant and multidisciplinary curriculum provides students with technical competencies as well as skills beyond engineering that are highly valued by employers. We work closely with industry and government to review and update our curricula so that they stay relevant and are in tandem to the fast changing demands of the economy and the world.
 
Learning at CoE is not confined to the classrooms, lecture theatres and laboratories. Our students gain real world, professional exposure through professional internship programmes. They can also sign up for the Global Immersion programmes to broaden and develop global perspectives. In addition, our students take part in exciting projects and international competitions to showcase their skills and talents, as well as to acquire actual engineering experiences and a better understanding of classroom theories.
 
All in all, we offer an unparalleled experiential learning experience with our undergraduate programmes that are designed to provide a complete education and diverse opportunities for our students to explore their interests and unleash their potential.
 
Research is another important cornerstone of CoE. Our faculty members and students engage in multi-disciplinary research with researchers from other colleges of NTU, and also with researchers from peer institutions, government agencies and industry, to generate new knowledge and make pioneering discoveries. We do not stop at knowledge creation and discoveries, we work at translating the knowledge into applied research outcomes that will improve the lives of people; and also drive entrepreneurial and commercial success. To this end, we provide our faculty and students with the best support and resources to drive innovation, nurture entrepreneurship and facilitate the commercialisation of research through licensing or establishing start-ups.
