Step 1: Invention

Think you have made a scientific or technical discovery with commercial potential? Consider the following steps before publicly disclosing your findings or submitting a manuscript for publication.

Step 2: Report and Protect Your Invention

Complete a Technology Disclosure Form and submit the form to TD_Submission@e.ntu.edu.sg.

Contact Director of IP Management, Christina Gee (christinagee@ntu.edu.sg) for enquiries related to invention disclosure.

Step 3: Apply for Proof-of-Concept (PoC) Grant Funding

Secure up to S$250,000 support to advance the Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of your invention.

Step 4: Build a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) for Field Trials

Contact Lead Technologist, Lim Shengen via an Interest Form for a consultation.

Step 5: Decide Commercialisation Between Licensing and Spin-Offs

  • Market your invention
  • Source industry partners
  • Negotiate IP terms with industry partners
  • Explore commercial applications of ongoing research work
