Student-Researcher Immersion Programme (SRIP)

The SRIP was first offered in AY2020-21 as a replacement of Scholarly Project, due to the COVID-19 situation. The feedback received from students and faculty was positive and it was considered a valuable learning experience that enabled students to get a better understanding of research activities carried out at LKCMedicine.
Considering the positive feedback and the effectiveness of SRIP in providing students with a meaningful introduction to research by engaging with LKCMedicine faculty, SRIP is now incorporated into the Scientific Enquiry and Evidence-Based Medicine (SEEM) module in Year 3 as a precursor to the Scholarly Project in Year 4.
The SRIP has three main objectives. First, it provides students with a better understanding of the connections between the SEEM sessions across their curriculum. Second, students will be better prepared for the Scholarly Projects in Year 4 through unique insights into how research is conducted at LKCMedicine. Third, it will provide early exposure to “authentic research” which aims to increase students’ interest and appreciation for research in general.
For AY2022-23, we have a total of 48 SRIP teams and they have each prepared an e-poster and a recorded presentation below.
