Research Grants Management
Associate Dean, Research Grants Management
Associate Professor Kong
"Research is one of the most important tasks of an academic staff member in NIE. The outcomes of research have a strong impact on the professional development of the staff member, the academic standing of NIE, and the community at large. For a NIE staff member to conduct a good research project, a systematic research support structure is necessary. The Research Grants Management (RGM) unit at GPL supports staff members in securing research funding and in managing their research projects."
GPL’s RGM unit manages the pre- and post-award administration of internal and external research grants. The unit also supports capacity building at NIE by fostering the development of high-quality grant applications, promoting a vibrant research culture, and facilitating networking opportunities. Examples of support that the unit provides to the NIE faculty in their grant applications and administration include:
- Notification of internal and external grant opportunities
- Coordination internal and external grant applications
- Advice on proposed grant budgets
- Supporting the internal review process in NIE
- Administration post-grant activities such as grant variations and extension, progress reporting
- Sharing updates on funding agencies’ requirements and guidelines as and when needed
