Graduate Scholarships
The scholarship programmes below are available to students pursuing postgraduate education at NTU. The NTU Research Scholarship is assigned by the School, and may be offered to applicants during the PhD programme application process (subject to limited availability). As for the other scholarships, the interested student must apply for them separately.
This scholarship is available to local or international students seeking admission for PhD studies. It covers tuition fees, and provides an initial monthly stipend of S$2,700 for Singapore citizens, S$2,200 for Singapore permanent residents, and S$2,000 for international students (increasing by up to S$500 after passing the PhD qualifying examinations). The award comes with service obligations, including teaching duties, during the course of study; there are no post-graduation service commitments. The scholarship application can be done in tandem with the PhD programme application.
This highly selective scholarship is preferentially awarded to Singapore citizens and permanent residents with excellent academic records. It covers tuition fees, and provides a monthly stipend of S$3200, as well as other allowances and perks. There are no post-graduation service commitments.
This scholarship is available to Singapore citizens and permanent residents (as well as international students intending to take up Singapore citizenship), and is offered jointly by the university and the Agency for Science, Technology & Research (A*STAR). It covers tuition fees, and provides a high monthly stipend (the precise amount is subject to adjustment by A*STAR). There is a service commitment after graduation.
This scholarship is available to international students seeking admission as a full-time student for a PhD by research, and is offered jointly by the university and the Agency for Science, Technology & Research (A*STAR). It covers tuition fees, and provides an initial monthly stipend of S$2000 (increasing after passing the PhD qualifying examinations), as well as one-time settling-in and airfare grants.
This scholarship gives the opportunity to combine PhD studies with working in a company. It is available for Singapore citizens and permanent residents.
