Dean of NTU’s College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences, Prof Joseph Liow, Releases New Book on Singapore's Geopolitical Challenges and Opportunities

It’s a privilege to highlight the recognition received by NTU School of Social Sciences’ Dean, Professor Joseph Liow, from Minister for Education Chan Chun Sing during the launch of Prof Liow’s latest book, “𝐍𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐔𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐲: 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐧 𝐀𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐅𝐥𝐮𝐱.”

Minister Chan praised Prof Liow’s contributions to understanding global uncertainties, notably the shifting power dynamics between the U.S. and China, in his remarks. He lauded the book for its thought-provoking insights that extend beyond academia, challenging policymakers, researchers, and citizens to envision a Singapore that navigates uncertainty and continues to thrive.

Minister Chan also emphasized Prof Liow’s insightful perspective on the need to make others choose us, rather than simply choosing sides, as we navigate these complex global challenges.

This recognition underscores the vital role of informed perspectives in shaping Singapore’s response to an uncertain global landscape.
