US announces sanctions on Chinese cybersecurity company accused of launching cyberattacks

The US government has announced sanctions on Integrity Technology Group, a Chinese cybersecurity firm, for its alleged role in a cyberattack known as Flax Typhoon. NTU PPGA’s Asst Prof Dylan Loh believes that the response from the US Department of the Treasury is expected, given that it is a sensitive and important government agency. He pointed out that imposing sanctions has been consistent with the style of the Biden administration and has nothing to do with the leadership transition period, but this may increase Trump's bargaining chips with China.
